Tidbits from this Week

Argh. This week.

Computer problems: I think they're solved now. Let's hope!

Want to know what we wore?: Here it is. Never happened on Wednesday. See the aforementioned post about the computer problems.

The Pudlo Curse: Ella has inherited The Pudlo Curse. Her hair flips in on one side and out on the other.

Homemade Nesquik: We did it! We made homemade Nesquik and it was awesome! One cup of cocoa powder, one cup of sugar and a pinch of salt!

Tidbits from this week

Slowly but surely: Gabe is recovering from his cold. Woo-hoo! I hate to see him sick.

Girls and Pearls, October: It happened today. Stay tuned for post :)

Indian Summer, ya'll!: Seriously, the weather around here could NOT be prettier. I plan on enjoying every day of this loveliness.

Look!  The return of the couples selfie: I'm not good at keeping up with this, am I?

Whoot!: Ella got a package from her big cousins. It was full of clothes, and PRAISE GOD for that, because she is outgrowing everything.

Reason #90832 why my Dad rocks: I found out he has been calling others who were in recovery with them, checking up on them and praying with them. Wow!

Tidbits from this week

Recovery: I'm about 100% from the sinus infection which knocked me on my butt this week.

Remembering: What started as a visit to the woods behind my house turned into a Remembrance Project for our babies.

In Her Memory: As a way of keeping Ms. Lora's memory alive, Ella and I donated 27 inches of hair to two worthy charities.

Dad Update: Dad continues to do well. I know that your prayers are making all the difference. Thank you all!

My Fame is Spreading: Hah. I have my first paying haircut customer. What? I'm as confused as you are. ;)

Tidbits from this week.

So, my sanity has suffered minimally this week. (yay!)

Poor Guy: Gabe is dealing with a cough/cold (aka the man flu). I kid, I kid. He hates not feeling well, and I hate it for him. Say a little prayer for him, please?

Thirty-one: No, I'm not selling bags. It's my birthday and I am thirty-one years old. I was greeted by a handmade card from my little girl, a big gushy love speech from my awesome husband, a big box from my sister (in law) and my mother-in-law...and then I was serenaded by a town deputy. All in all, pretty awesome.

Leaves!: The leaves are changing!!!

Whooo's excited?: My Ella. Why? Because she got her night owl clip from Lilla Rose today.

True story!: I walked past my kitchen shelves and NOTHING FELL ON ME. Progress, people!

Tidbits from this week...a day late.

Why am I late? Because some days simply move way too fast for me to blog. Family time becomes more important.

Fall is here: Literally. In full swing. Leaves falling. Cooler weather. Awesomeness!!!!

And Speaking Of... We got our first pumpkin of the season, courtesy of Grandpa Bruce. Ella picked it out, of course :)

This is why neither Ella nor I blogged yesterday:

Two words: Family Time.

Not really an update, but.... I love working for Lilla Rose! I finally have a hair accessory that doesn't fall, slip or slide out of my hair. Not to mention, it actually makes for MORE family time with Miss Ella!

This is not easy to write: It's also the first time I've done this. After three years, I left the church I attended here in NC. It's the first time I'd ever been in a church this long, not counting the church I attended as a kid in Poland. It's also the first time it hurt my heart to leave a church. However, after much prayer, I know that God is leading me where He wants me to be. We are currently attending another wonderful church with lots of sweet fellowship and are very happy, even though we miss many friends.

Tidbits from this week

IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE!!!!!: my Lilla Rose consultant kit, that is. I've already had two sales today, and more are coming through next week! Praise God!

The difference: I've noticed a massive difference in my outlook and attitude (for the better!) since I switched my Bible reading to the morning, from the evening. Now, I don't even check email or my phone until I've had my devotion time.

The Countdown in ON: As of this posting, Ella and I have less than a month until we cut our hair :)

An Unexpected Gift:  My awesome father-in-law, Bill, replaced my ghetto Blackberry phone with a non-ghetto Blackberry phone. Yes, I'm old school. No, I don't care.

Fall Pics!: I took Ella's fall pictures yesterday, on the cheap. (Because I'm CHEAP, with a capital C)

Tidbits from this week

Dear Lung Virus, You can bite me: I'm on the mend, but my goodness, has this been a miserable week. I can finally talk without coughing...mostly. The "best" part about this virus? It has to "run its course" bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.

Great News:!!!!! Dad had two doctor's appointments this week. They both went so well! He is 100% cancer-free!!!! He's also gained 15 pounds and is looking great! His next appointment with his regular doctor is in December, and the radiation doctor doesn't want to see him until APRIL! whoot whoot! Go Dad!!!!

Something New: I've been working since literally the day we moved to North Carolina, but I feel like it's time for me to contribute to our household more. So, I'm stepping out on a bit of a limb here. I signed up with Lilla Rose today! You can find my website here. I'm still doing some work on it (like the image won't upload, grrrrrrr, but feel free to order!) Every penny helps my lovely family (and our journey back up to the great white North). That said, I do love my Lilla Rose flexi clip.
Ella does too, and it's the only thing we've found that will comfortably keep her waist length hair up. They're made of music wire, so they're really sturdy. And they're so darn pretty too!

God Answers Prayers: For the past year, I've been asking God to bring Gabe back to church. This Wednesday, God answered! Here's our little couples selfie before church :)

How Far He's Brought Us: Today, I ran into a friend I hadn't seen in over 2 years. She remarked about how happy I look and was I still with my husband? The last time she saw me, I was talking divorce. I informed her that yes, Gabe and I are still together and this is the happiest we've ever been. God has brought us so far from the couple who looked good on the outside, but were a total mess behind closed doors. My husband is my hero and my protector. If you were to tell me two and a half years ago that I would be typing those words, I wouldn't have believed you. Praise God, with Him nothing is impossible!!!!

Tidbits From This Week

This week has been INSANE. Monday happened twice this week, on both Monday and what I've lovingly referred to as Muesday. We had some major septic issues in the neighborhood, and while that was being dealt with, I went to work only to find out there were major electrical problems out there, bleh.

Here's what ELSE happened over the last 7 days.

**Good deals!: We hit up a consignment sale last Saturday. I was able to get some really awesome things for Ella, including this dress.

**Yay! except not really...: I've actually been able to read some! (because these allergies have me in bed with a book by 10 sometimes, boooooo)

**Feeling at home: Ella and I have continued to attend Bible Study at Faith Baptist, and we continue to love it!

**They're so crafty:  Gabe and Ella have done a lot of crafting together, which is super awesome what with  me feeling horrible and all. It's so fun to see Ella's sense of humor shaping up to be exactly like Gabe's.

**Prayers, please: I've got a very important meeting coming up this week, and it could mean some AWESOME changes for our little family, so pray! :)

Tidbits from this week

Something New: Ella and I attended Bible Study at a local church other than our home church, and we are in love. With the material we are studying, with the people there and just everything in general. We're not leaving our home church at the moment, but are seriously loving the Bible study!

...And Speaking of....: I just found out that this church has a HOMESCHOOL RESOURCE CENTER! Where has this place BEEN all my life?

Holy Allergies, Batman; Our pine trees are shedding....right on my back deck. I'm lucky I can breathe right now...only a few more months til winter, right?

Random Weirdness: Ella and I saw a spider monkey at Family Dollar today. Yes. It was absolutely real, and it tried to lunge for Ella. Scary!

Girls and Pearls, August: Today, Ella and I had our Girls and Pearls day. I'm going to let Ella write about it in her weekly blog. Partly because it ties in with what she had planned to write, but partly because I feel so awful. (Thanks, allergies!)

Tidbits from this week

On the Mend: Ella and I both came down with some awful stomach bug this Tuesday. I have a stomach of steel, and haven't thrown up in ages, but Ella was pretty miserable. Thankfully, we were over it by Wednesday.

God's Creation: We've had some lovely sunsets this week. Yes, this is absolutely worth mentioning!

It's Weird, but... I don't know if I will ever think of Chicago as "home" again. Yes, it's where Riley was born, where Ella was raised for the first 4 years of her life...but I don't know. Gabe and I look forward to setting roots down...somewhere. Further up north than where we are, but I'm not saying where yet.

Never TOO Early, right?: In the midst of Ella and myself being sick, we went to Wal-mart and there was a display of "Frozen" fabric. For those of you who missed it, Ella is super excited to be Elsa this Halloween. Yes, I bought fabric. Yes, I am that crazy mom who works on her daughter's Halloween costume in August. Deal with it ;)

(Home)school Days: School's in full swing yet again, and yet again, I am amazed at my daughter and her ability to retain information. This kid can quote the Bible like nobody's business.

Tidbits from this week

Yay!: I was finally cleared for exercise this Monday....

Double Yay!: I received a prize from my friend (and Beachbody coach) Brittney. You can find her Facebook  page right here...she's awesome. I got some Shakeology shakes, and the Slim in 6 DVD...just in time to get cleared for exercise! It's been kicking my butt, but in the best way!

Ugh: For the first time since high school, I own a scale. I'm not posting much about it, but I was very wary of buying one for me. In high school, major insecurity led me to starve myself. I'm not going to let the number control me, but it will be nice to keep track of my progress!

Time flies: Ella started 3rd grade this Monday. It's bittersweet because while it's amazing to see her grow up, I'm still not ready to let go. Not ready for 4th grade. Or 5th. Or high school. Lord help me!!!

Exhausted!: Why, you ask? Because I picked over 100 pounds of green beans. Yep. I spent more time on that farm than I did at home. Of course, Ella helped with a fair deal of it.

I'm in love...: I'm going to tell Gabe that when we move, I want, no...I NEED a Blue Heeler dog. There are two on the farm (Tippy and Drippy) and I love them.

Tidbits from This Week

Almost There: my ankle is so, so close to being 100%. I've been advised not to "walk on it, or put weight on it." They're kidding, right? I WORK FOR A LIVING.

Sweet Girls!: The little bff Ella met this summer, Autumn, went back home (a few hours away) for school. Both girls were sad to say goodbye, but they had one last hurrah hanging out at the local park.

And You Thought I was OCD Before: I just finished my September 2014 Meal Plan. Go me!!!!

Sick of it: My hair. I am officially at the point where I hate it. I hate pulling it out of the back of my shirt. I hate that it always gets caught under the strap of my handbag. I.Hate.My.Hair.

I'm In Love: With my summer job. I spent yesterday evening up on a mountain top. Yes, I was weeding a raspberry patch, but it was so quiet, and peaceful....

One More: After 3 years, I am debating a pretty bold move...so pray for me. Pray for us all, actually.

Tidbits from This week

New Gig: I started helping out on a farm within this last week. It's hard farm work, but it's fair pay. Plus, Ella gets to come with me and hang out on the farm, and she loves that.
Of Course:...My second day on the job, I sprained my ankle. Don't worry, I'm still working there. I just have to work there with a really (un)attractive brace on my ankle.

Tomorrow...Gabe and I will celebrate 8 years of marriage!!!!

Say a prayer: For my in-law's dog, Honey Bear. She is having major issues with her vision. I love that dog, she was my companion when I was pregnant with Ella.

Off the Bucket List: I made Salisbury Steak this week, and it rocked!!!!

Tidbits from this week

Yay!!!!: My oldest sister Gosia found out she is getting promoted to pharmacy manager. She has come so far and deserves every bit of recognition she gets. So proud of her!!

Thank Goodness: Gabe's co-worker took in Beaky and Sneaky (formerly Faith and Blessing). We were somewhat sorry to see them go, but they now have a wonderful forever home. How fast they grew!!!

New Arrival: My nephew arrived last Friday, and he is beautiful. I won't post pics for the privacy of my sister in law, but let me assure you that he is gorgeous.

And it continues: Our selfie tradition. This morning we took a particularly awful picture, but I figure one day when we're really REALLY old, we'll laugh at this. Maybe.

Accomplished!: I get to cross another food off my bucket list. I conquered the porcupine meatballs! Gabe says they were awesome. I'm just glad they were edible. :)

How cool is this?:  My next door neighbor, Denise, and I started a kitchen swap. For some fresh basil, some canned mushrooms, macaroni and cheese and rice, I got....

Vegetarian veggie broth, Campbell's noodle soup (don't judge, hubby likes it), turkey gravy (for open-faced turkey sandwiches when I am lazy) and some other things. Yay! Denise and I have officially found a new tradition: the pantry swap!

Tidbits from this week

Waiting: My newest nephew will likely be born sometime today! Say a prayer for my sister in law, please!!!!

Boys and their toys: Gabe received a present in the mail today...a new camera! His old Fujifilm just wasn't cutting it anymore, being over 5 years old and quirky besides...say hello to his new bff, Mr. Sony Cybershot ;)

My hero!: Gabe decided to do something colossal (in my eyes anyway!) and commit himself to cooking one meal a week to make things easier on me. Last Sunday, he made stuffed shells. They were DELICIOUS.

Speaking of food: I made Zuppa Toscana for the first time ever and it was amazing!!!!

Going strong: My couples selfie tradition!

Tidbits from this week

A promise kept: I promised myself that I would take more pictures of Gabe and me, since that's virtually stopped since we had children. So far, I've done well to keep the pic-a-week tradition going.

...this leads me to the next thing....

Yikes!: I just realized that in virtually every pic of me and Gabe, I have my hair up. Why, you ask? Because it's way too long and is driving me crazy. I really should look better in these pictures. That's my next promise to myself. Look.better.in.these.dang.pictures!

Making Grandma Aniela Proud: This week, I mastered my Grandma's mushroom soup recipe. It was dee-licious, as Ella says.

It's....Bat-owl?: Putting my (extremely limited due to a lack of a sewing machine) sewing skills to use, I made Ella a pair of bat wings. She says they are way cooler than fairy wings, and hey, they only cost me 15 cents to make.

Gabe's New Fave: Gabe has been missing Chicago-style pizza puffs, and truthfully, I have too. Except the deep-frying. I don't miss the deep frying. So, this week, I made pizza puffs and baked them. They were amazing. Success!!!!!
