Trying Something New: Happy Homemaker Monday

I'm a homemaker (part of the time anyway) and since this comes from one of my favorite blogs ever, Diary of a Stay at Home Mom I figured I would play along.

The weather in my neck of the woods: There's a chance for a thunderstorm today and tomorrow, but it's supposed to nice and warm otherwise. But, it's the NC mountains, so who knows what will actually happen?

Things that make me happy: The fact that we are in this house to stay!!!! Also, Tom the cat. He's been a joy to all of us, even if he does hog the pillows at night :)

Menu for this week: I haven't even started meal planning for the week (will write more in Meal Planning Monday post later), but at least I know I'll be making chicken spaghetti tonight.

What's on my TV today: I suppose I should tell ya'll that I don't watch TV, not really ever. Movies on DVD are one thing, but I've not become so invested in a TV show that I had to watch it religiously. Not since William Petersen left CSI anyway ;)

Looking around the house: I need to get unpacked. Yikes.

On my to-do list: Unpack, help Ella write out her Thank You cards for her birthday gifts,  write out my Thank You cards to customers, visit the post office, visit Grandma and Grandpa to bring them a piece or two of Ella's birthday cake.

New recipe I want to try or am trying soon: Braised Ribs. Wish me luck with that.

In the craft basket: Um, everything. With this move, I've done zero crafting. It doesn't help that I cannot find my crochet hook or an embroidery needle.

Looking forward to this week: Going to Grandma's, cooking real meals (cause I have a working STOVE ya'll!!!!), finally (hopefully) taking Ella's spring pictures.

Tips and Tricks: Use a lemon to scrub your sink. It cleans it and it smells great :)

Blog Hopping: (a newly discovered blog I want to share): I haven't had time to go blog hopping, so I got nothin'. Next week, I promise.

No Words Needed: (favorite photo)

Lesson learned the past few days: There are people who are awesome and compassionate. Also, my husband is Superman.

On my mind: Unpacking the house, bills, my Dad (he had some leg pain but seems much better now. Please pray for him)

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses: "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the LORD and not unto men." -- Colossians 3:23
