Lilla Rose: Purple Friday and a Giveaway on top of a Giveaway!

Did you miss Black Friday?

Well, never fear! Lilla Rose is having a Purple Friday sale!!!

Here are the deets:

Most of my customers know that I'm doing a giveaway every month, where the winner gets a free item of their choice. (All you have to do to enter is order something during that month from my website )
This month, I am doing two giveaways. I am already doing my usual monthly giveaway...but this month, I have a goal I want to meet. I would like an additional $300 in orders before the end of the month (I'm in the process of saving up money for a return trip to Chicago for Ella's 9th Birthday and Riley's 10th. It's the only thing Ella has asked for!)
If my goal is met, I will give a lucky winner the wildly popular and sold out Crimson Joy flexi in a size small!

While you are shopping the Purple Friday Sale, you are automatically entered to win this *sold out* clip and you are helping fulfill my awesome daughter's birthday wish!
Happy Shopping!

Meal Plan Monday: Should I even be planning this week? (and announcing the winner of the giveaway!)

Apparently, yes.

Why? Because OCD.

It has been a crazy week, but is mostly getting better. This move is starting to take a toll on me!

But, everyone else seems to be having fun ;)

Before I go any further with the meal planning, the winner of the November Giveaway is: Kristi Gross!

Ok: now for the Meal Plan.
Monday: Turkey sandwiches and Babybel cheese.
Tuesday: Ramen stir fry
Wednesday: Undecided, but probably something horrifically unhealthy as it's move in day
Thursday: Taco Soup. In the crockpot.
Friday: Takeout, probably (this is SO not a good week for meal planning!)
Saturday: I'll be nice and make Pizza Soup (in the crockpot)
Sunday: Spaghetti, because it's tradition

Life is going to be interesting in the new place for the first week or so. They are working on the stove, and so a lot of my meals will be crockpot meals. Suggestions?

Monday Funday and a Giveaway

First off, I'm aware it's Tuesday :)

Mondays are usually my days off and usually the days where I can actually get out and do fun crafts and stuff with Ella. So, I tend to actually do the fun stuff instead of posting about it.

Yesterday, we tested two bubble solutions to see which one did better.

One was a solution of:

2 tablespoons Method dish soap
1 tablespoon glycerin
1 cup distilled water

the other was
2 tablespoons blue Dawn dish soap
1 tablespoon glycerin
1 cup distilled water

The directions for both solutions are the same. Put in a seal-able container, and mix gently.

We found we both liked the Method solution better...mostly because we like the smell of the Method "Clementine" dish soap. They both worked great...as you'll see in the pictures!

getting all the stuff ready....

the neighborhood cats turned up to see what all the fuss was about.

Now, for the giveaway...I'm going to give away everything needed to make both bubble solutions, right down to the distilled water. No lie.

To enter: Comment here with your email address and how you make your bubbles, whether it's a store-bought solution like Miracle Bubbles or something you whip up yourself!

Winner will be announced May 16th!

Good Luck!

Ding Ding Ding!

We have a winner for our giveaway.

To ensure total fairness, I wrote each name on an identical strip of paper, and folded them all the same way.

To further ensure fairness, I used the help of my lovely assistant (the ever-amazing Ella) to pick a name!

Annnddddd...the winner is....

Erica Hines of Georgia, who said she wanted to win this so she could feel like she was at the beach. Oh, and for the texture ;). That said, it's WAY warmer where Erica is than where I am, so I don't think she has any right to complain about not being at the beach :) ....Erica, your sea salt spray will be on its way to you soon!

Stay tuned for the next giveaway, which will  be announced sometime next week!

11/52

11/52: She's watching the temperature rise. It's a study of thermometers :)

11/52, Sunday: Someone commented to me on how pretty her hair looks today. All we did was undo her braids this morning and spray them with more sea salt spray (which you can still win, cough cough....)

The Braid Crown: (Korona z Warkoczy): Tutorial and a giveaway!

I have about 7 months to enjoy my daughter's long hair. Mainly, because I don't enjoy mine. The second it starts to get below my shoulders, it begins driving me INSANE.

But Ella's is just so darn pretty that we're always trying to find cool things to do with it.

Today, we tried a Braid Crown. (Korona z Warkoczy is Polish for Braid Crown, and it's what my parents called it when I sent them the picture of her)

Here goes the tutorial...the giveaway comes after :)

What you need for the Braid Crown

*A hairbrush
*bobby pins
*clear elastics
*sea salt spray
*a kid with long hair
*patience

And here's what you do.... you divide the hair into two sections, like this...

Braid the sections and secure each with a clear elastic...

Spray both braids liberally with sea salt spray (which I love!)

Pull one braid taut on top of head and pin like so....

...and repeat with other side....

What am I giving away?
A bottle of this....

It's awesome, smells great and gives your hair that pretty, wavy texture that you'd get after a day at the beach. Sigh...I miss the beach.
To enter, all you have to do is comment with why you want this and your email address.
Will announce a winner Friday afternoon, both via email and on here.
Bear with me, this is the first giveaway I've ever done.
Good Luck :)
