It's seriously the Mondayest Monday ever, right down to the weather.
But I have a million things to do, so I'm ready to snap out of this funk!!!
So, let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday!
The Weather: Rain, rain, go away!!!
Right now, I am: Overseeing school, typing this post, while I tend to plants and clean a kitchen. Multitasking at its finest!!!
Thinking: That while the rain surely does make for a dreary day, I have so much to get done, it's probably good that I'm stuck inside so I don't get distracted by pretty weather!
On my reading pile: Coursework for school, and "Burial Rites" by Hannah Kent. Also, "If Angels Fall" by Rick Mofina. Tonight I will get somewhere in his book!!!
On my TV: nothing! no time to watch it!!!
On the menu for this week:
Monday: Grilled chicken, couscous, and veggies
Tuesday: Garden vegetables, mac and cheese (I try to meatless when we can)
Wednesday: Pot roast, more veggies, mashed potatoes
Thursday: Italian Beef Sandwiches
Friday: Breakfast for Dinner
Saturday: Pizza Soup
Sunday: Chicken Fettucine Alfredo, with broccoli
On my to-do list:
*Study
*Laundry
*Clean the bathrooms
*Help Ella sort her clothes, to see what she's giving away to Goodwill
*Catch up on ALLLLL the stuff that needs to get done
What I am creating: I can't say right now, but just know that it has something to do with the announcement I made yesterday . More on this soon.
Looking around the house: I realized I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. Mannnn, "oversleep" by 15 minutes, and your whole day is out of whack. Sigh.

I caught Sphinx in a rare moment of not wreaking havoc and instead playing very nicely with Ella.
Also, the smile on Ella's face...oh, my heart!
On my prayer list: My Mom and Dad, my kid brother, my sanity. This is shaping up to be quite the week already.

Joanna, you're so sweet to be so complimentary , but truly, my decor in my home is actually more of a collaboration between myself and God.... through the circumstances of my life... the blessings and the trials,,, things come into life to create changes some for good and others for not so good... IN our family we have experienced a lot of loss.. and we inherited a ton of other people's stuff.... deciding what to keep for posterity and what to dispose has always been a dillemma for us.... most lately it was my parents who died within a year of each other .. my parents were artists... craftsmen of fine one of a kind items that they had a plenty in their home and I couldnt part with so much of it... but my daughter only wanted so much for herself... and so many items that were like kind of things I already had were donated.... meanwhile, God has always been with me to pull things all together... for example, once I was driving by a favorite consignment shop and I felt His gentle tug to stop that there was something for me... sure enough I found the 4 cups and saucers that were missing from my mom's china that I had decided to keep.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I have learned to be satisfied with what comes my way... and try to mold it into our lifestyle.... years ago, my "early attic" furniture lent itself to my desire to decorate in the English victorian style... but I truly did not have the massive gorgeous antiques that really exemplied the style... I was more on the shabby look... which w as also coming into vogue.... My hubby wa s glad when the days of pink and mauve roses came to an end.... then by chance my oil painting teacher at age 95 gave me her last work... the painting in our living room of an Abbey in England... I was really into Spiritual warfare at that time and I got in the medieval look of olde England... which led me to the look I have today... all this to say that life and time was my decorator.... and I like to have things around me that I truly love that tell a story about our life... and I have to say, I still need to purge purge purge because, life can sometimes get too busy! if you know what I mean!
A MONDAY-Monday? Oh, no! Well, hopefully the Monday-Monday got better and on track as it went on. (I won't rub it in that we're on homeschool vacation this week and 2 of my kids are with grandparents...so I spent the day crocheting and doing some odd things around the house...and took a short nap. I won't mention this at all! LOL) I've been totally wanting to do a crockpot pot roast with potatoes and carrots. :sigh: Yummy!

Your menu looks Yummy! Pizza soup sounds fun and I've been wanting to make a pot roast.
